On 30th of July, TEMP (The Extra Mile Program) has organised a visitation to Pusat Penjagaan Kanak- Kanak Cacat Taman Megah (PPKKCTM). This was the second visitation that organised by TEMP and this visitation was supported under the Great Heart Charity Association under "You & Me Education Program". This visitation was meant to provide love and companionship to the unfortunate children and to create awareness in the hearts of the younger generation.

34 benevolent students from Taylor's University School of Pharmacy have volunteered themselves in this visitation to spend meaningful time with the children. The event started off with simple yet interesting warm-up dancing session. This was certainly an ice- breaking moment with our volunteers and the children. After that, volunteers and children were separated into small groups to carry out some educational and interactive games. In this session, simple mathematics calculations, animal identifying, and some daily life knowledge was taught by our volunteers to the children. Communication was the biggest challenge that our volunteers faced as most of the children are intellectually lacking. Therefore, patience is definitely the key in communicating with the children and our volunteers have done this job unexceptionally well. Next, arts and crafts session was carried out with the children by doing colouring and making 3D turtle papers. This session has shown the creativeness of the children and many of them had done a really great job. The last session was the sing-a-long session that everyone loved the most. In this session, our volunteers have discovered some underlying talents in the children as they sang and dance really well. Stationary sets were distributed to the children as a small present as well. Lastly,  the visitation ended up with taking group photos and warm hugs from the children.

As per TEMP vision, "Empowering Communities, Changing Lives" we have never stop our way in trying to contribute to the community. This visitation was definitely an eye opening experience to most of the students as interacting with the disabled children was quite a rare opportunity. The biggest take away from the students is that they learnt to be more grateful and appreciate what they have in their life and they promised to involved more in social activities to help those who are in need. Last but not least, special thanks to Great Heart Association that contributed not only monetary support but also volunteered themselves in participating in this visitation.
