On 29th of May 2017 to 9th of June 2017, a donation campaign was held at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus by TuPSS' s TEMP (The Extra Mile Program). It was the first donation campaign held by TuPSS and the overwhelming response was received throughout the campaign. The beneficiary of this campaign was Jumble Station, which is a community established in 2008 and their objectives are to empower the underprivileged single parent families.
It was a relatively simple campaign, a booth with empty boxes was set up in front of Lecture Theatre 1(LT1) at Taylor's University and allowed for anyone to donate their donatable items. Any recyclable items were acceptable such as clothes, electrical items, collectables and antiques, books, kitchenware and furniture. Also, a minimum amount of RM10 as a monetary donation is welcomed to support the underprivileged.
As mentioned, it was the first donation campaign that ever held by TuPSS. Yet, it has attracted much attraction from the public and received well enthusiastic response during the campaign, a total of 20 boxes including bags with full of recyclable items was donated to Jumble Station after the campaign, it was undoubtedly a very successful campaign that held by the TEMP committee who always wanted to make a change, empowering the communities and changing lives.
Lastly, a huge shout out the everyone who has contributed to this Donation Campaign. Let's keep the spirits up to help more people in needs!
