The School of Pharmacy Annual Sports Day was held on 27th November 2015 at Sports Complex, Taylors University Lakeside Campus. Registration took place at 8.30a.m. where the students were divided and arranged according to their respective teams. A welcome speech was given by the project management team, followed by our president Jason Lee, who gave a short introduction speech which marked the official opening of the event.
It was a drizzling morning, but luckily the rain stopped after the cheer performance done by the participants, it was believed that the performances have cheered the weather up. It was overall a very enjoyable performance and could not believe that our pharmacy students were so good in performing and they do put in a lot of effort in arranging the performance. It was nice to see how the solid teamwork had made the teams be even stronger and united.
Next, a 3vs3 basketball match was carried out, each team has selected 3 members to complete the game, the game was certainly a thrilling session as our pharmacy girls are equally skilled with the guys. Although all the teams became competitive to get points for their own respective team but they had proven the true underlying sportsmanship as well after the game. After the exhausting session, lunch with chicken rice and sambal egg was provided to help our participants to regain their energy.

Then, a warm-up session was conducted by Jason, just to prepare the participants for the next activity, which is the marathon run. The total distance for the run is 3 kilometres which are approximately equal to 2 rounds around the campus. Even though the marathon run was delayed due to rainy weather, but the weather did not prevent our passionate participants for the run. After that, our participants have a breakfast which consisted of Massimo bread, Milo drink and 100 plus was provided to the participants after they have completed the run and they were given 30 minutes of break as well.

Another exciting game was carried out which was the dodgeball match, the match was equally exhilarating to the basketball match, which has brought up the atmosphere to the max, teamwork is observed during the event as they were required to protect their "queen" to receive any "damage" in the match. A rather chilling yet entertaining station games were conducted in three different fields (Indoor futsal court, outdoor futsal court and softball court). 3 different games were conducted which were the "longest game", "water balloon game" and "fill up the water bottle". The "Longest game" required participants to fully utilise their body advantage to make the longest line with other teammates, which theoretically genetics do play a role here ;P. Other than that, participants were required to use their object on their body, such as clothes, shoes, socks, to make the longest line among the other teams. The water balloon game require participants to use their shirt to pass the water balloon to the other teammates and the last person has to break the balloon as fast as possible, the team which used the least time will be the winner. Followed by the "fill up the water bottle“ game, our participants has to divide to two groups, one who is lying down while the other was the one who filling up the water, the standing person has to stand straight and try their best to pour the water into the water bottle held by the lying participants. This game required participants to have excellent eyesight as well as the estimation of wind flow to allow the maximum volume of the water is being filled into the water bottle. Both water games were absolutely fascinating and exciting.
The last event of the day was the prize-giving session. After all the accumulation of points, Blue Team came up as champion. Black Team got second place followed by Green Team with third place. Purple got the fourth place. There were medals and prizes allocated for each team. Token of appreciations was given to the Dean of School of Pharmacy, Prof.Thomas and other lecturers who came for the event. Before ending the session, Prof. Thomas gave words of motivations to the participants which were indeed inspiring.
The event was successful due to the overwhelming supports from the lecturers and students. It was honourable to see the lecturers who played along with the students despite their busy schedules. Besides, this event was a small collaboration with SBS and SOM as some helpers were being so helpful by assisting during the game. Last but not least, special thanks to our supportive seniors as they showed up to support our event, which indicating a strong junior-senior relationship. Overall, even though there were minor circumstances that happened during the event but those problems were solved perfectly. It was indeed a tiring day but everyone was happy and had fun.
