National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) is an annual sports event, managed by the Malaysian Pharmacy Students' Association (MyPSA), in collaboration with any selected university. This year, the 10th National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) was successfully held at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) from 24th February to 26th February 2017 and the theme of the year was " Emulsifying Strength and Spirit to Victory!"
This year's event involves all pharmacy students from 19 universities under the umbrella of MyPSA. Taylor's University has no exception to be one of the competing universities in this event since 2013. This year, a total of 41 representatives from Taylor's University School of Pharmacy was sent to UiTM and ready to bring back the medals.
Day 1 (24th February 2017)
On the first day, some of our students gathered at Taylor's University at 10am and departed to UiTM by Taylor's bus. We arrived at UiTM at 11am and we received the warmest welcome from the UiTM representatives.
The team has returned! Our NPSC women's basketball team has returned to the court with extra stamina, better skills which helped them to have a really close score in winning the match. Despite the results, our girls have decided to train more and they claimed that they will come back stronger and better!
Men's Futsal

New blood has added to our futsal team, which brings greater achievements to us! Our futsal team has defeated one strong team in their games which makes our players be more determined in future training so that they can achieve more. No such word like “giving up" in their dictionary, as they believe that each match will make them stronger as the experience and the friendships are the utmost important.
Day 3 (26th February 2017)
Traditional games were the last game in NPSC. However, unlike previous years, this year's traditional games were slightly different, each university can only send out representatives and form a group with other universities. Our 2016/2017 president, Jason Lee, was chosen to be one of the representatives, along with Jezreel, Elina and Malar. The traditional games consist of dodgeball, Galah Panjang, and a Secret game. This new traditional games has brought all the universities together and make our "Pharmily" greater and better.
After the traditional games, we moved to UiTM Sports Centre for the closing ceremony which marks the end of the NPSC.
Overall, we ranked 7th out of 19 universities this year! *Cheeeeers!!!*
After the hectic days, many of us were worn out, injured, and without sufficient rest. Yet, our athlete's displayed sheer determination and willpower in these three days. Many of us had fun working with each others, the seniors and juniors, and it was also a good opportunity to be able to step out of our comfort zones, but to know more pharmacy students from other universities. All in all, the 10th NPSC 2017 was a success and we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone especially the host of NPSC 2016, UiTM.

After checking into our respective dorms, we had our lunch in the cafeteria in UiTM before heading to the Stadium Panasonic for the opening ceremony which would mark the commencement of tiring but exciting sports carnival. The opening ceremony began with the parade of each university with their specially tailored flag. The spirits of athletes were definitely heated up by the scorching sun during the parade
However, the sky started to drizzle during the speech delivering by the VIPs but the spirits of our athletes were still well heated up as the first game in NPSC which was "Tracks and Fields' will be carrying out in the same stadium later on. The weather was still pretty bad during the game, yet the brave runners have shown their determination to finish the game despite the weather. Hence, it was decided by all that the continuation for the tracks and field. Here are some of the photos taken during the game.

Congratulations to Elaine for getting Silver medal in 200m! You could rarely see the photos of her as she ran too fast! In short, it was a night that full of excitements and our spirits have elevated to one level higher as it will be a full day of sports all the way until late night tomorrow.
Day 2 (25th February 2017)
For most of us, that's what breakfast is, an enjoyable way to kick-start the day. The breakfast provided by UiTM was fairly simple, with banana and a piece of cake but they were sufficient enough for our athletes to prepare themselves in the coming modern games. Our athletes participated in Badminton, Ping Pong, Netball, Basketball and Futsal. Each game carried out in different courts at the same time.

Congratulations to Clement for winning the gold medal for Taylor's! Elaine and Joyce for getting the 4th place! This was the first year Taylor's ranked in the first place in Badminton, and we believe that this will not be the last!

Unlike the previous years, this year a new Women's Double team was formed and both of them were first time player and guess what they got the 4th place in their very first game and believe it or not, Taylor's has dominated the Ping Pong's games since 2014, this is the third time in a row we won the gold medal for Women's Single and the fourth time Taylor's ranked in the ranking board for Men's Single.

Another new team was formed in this year NPSC, and congrats to them as they made into the quarter finals! It was certainly a great start for them and we do believe that what is the most precious is the experience that counts!
