On the 21st
November 2015, TEMP had successfully carried out their first activity for this
semester, to pay a visit to the Enggang community at the Enggang Flats located
in Puchong. The students departed from Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus to
the Enggang Flats at 12pm, and the whole activity ended at around 3pm.
The main objective for this visit is to
listen to their stories and to see in what ways we can help the community in
terms of what they need. The student volunteers
visited 10 families in total, they also bought some gifts for the family which
mainly consisted of biscuits and can food which can last them for a period of
time.
Besides talking to the family and noting down
on what they need as well as what kind of support they require in order to live
a better life, our student volunteers also had a fun time playing games with
the children to create good memories together.
This meaningful visit was organized by our
TEMP director, Patricia Anne Roges, and her committee members, Agnes Lim, Lim
Jia Wen, Kimberley Tey, and other kind and helpful volunteers.
Realizing the benefit of such initiatives to
communities in need and its sudents,Taylor School Of Pharmacy is planning to
have fund raising activities in order to help those poor families and plan more
efficient and sustainable outreach programmes
in the near future.
